Children’s Book Drive
Office/Remote Location

Description
Founded by UNLV College of Education alumni, Spread the Word Nevada (STWN) is a children’s literacy non-profit dedicated to advancing early childhood literacy by placing books into the hands and homes of children within Nevada’s at-risk, low income communities.
You can support the cause by contributing to the physical/virtual book drive and/or help us prepare books in-person on July 26, 2025.
Physical Book Drive
Bring books to the UNLV College of Education Dean’s Office in the Carlson Education Building (CEB) in Room 301. The office is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Alternatively, you can drop books off at any of the STWN Book Bins across the state. Please include a note to indicate that the books were donated as a part of the UNLV College of Education Alumni Chapter Drive so they can be included in our total!
Book Donation Guidelines
- New and gently used books are welcome!
- Preferred reading levels: PreK–5th grade (ages 0-11), with a special need for 4th & 5th grade chapter books.
- Please no:
- Encyclopedias, dictionaries, activity books, workbooks, or coloring books

Virtual Book Drive
Not in Nevada? No problem! You can support this initiative by making a donation on our webpage. STWN can purchase a children’s book for just $2, so every dollar donated truly makes a difference.
